In a 1270 or 1280 either inkset is going to give you imagery that is essentially dotless to the naked eye.. If I need the longest lasting images I use the MIS sets.. If I need colors outside the gamut of the MIS set, the SG's do the trick.. When I need glossy or Lustre output, I use the SGs... You give up some flexibility for more archivability with the MIS sets. You also need to know that just as the MIS inks don't bond well to certain papers, certain matte papers will cause evident metamerism with the SGs.
