Digital BW, The Print

This is driving me crazy. Somehow my history window is screwing me up.
It used to be when I did some moves and then wanted to go back say, 5 
moves, the windows showing those actions would disappear and the 
thread would pick when I started working again, erasing over the old 
moves.

What's happening now is that when I go back 5 moves the windows do 
not disappear and when I make a new move it leap frogs over the old 
moves. The old moves are not re-activated but the windows remain and 
they DO become active if I click on them.

Is there a way to set the window to a default mode that makes the 
windows disappear if I back up to an earlier move?

Not sure if any of this makes sense but a answer to this would change 
my world.  :   )
