Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

2002-12-10 by Tim Timmermans <treath@aol.com>

This is driving me crazy. Somehow my history window is screwing me up.
It used to be when I did some moves and then wanted to go back say, 5
moves, the windows showing those actions would disappear and the
thread would pick when I started working again, erasing over the old
moves.

What's happening now is that when I go back 5 moves the windows do
not disappear and when I make a new move it leap frogs over the old
moves. The old moves are not re-activated but the windows remain and
they DO become active if I click on them.

Is there a way to set the window to a default mode that makes the
windows disappear if I back up to an earlier move?

Not sure if any of this makes sense but a answer to this would change
my world. : )

Thanks, Tim

Tim,

In the options for the history palette there is an option for allowing
non-linear history. If you have that checked, then it does allow for
skipping around with histories...

Hope This Helps!

Thanks Jim. That box is already checked but so is a box
called "automatically creat first snapshot". Does that make a
difference? Any other suggestions?

Actually I think I fixed it by UNchecking the box. Thanks, Tim

Do you by any chance have your setting to "Linear history" on?

Set the "non-linear history" preference back to false. (I was confused
by this a little while ago.)

The history feature in photoshop makes people lazy and lulls you into a
false sense of secruity
and is a bad use of resourses.

DON'T USE IT AT ALL
