Tom, You can cut your cost for rag mat board and fomecore by about half if you buy it by the case. Check out: http://framingsupplies.com/ Also, that's way too much for glass that size. Don't buy it from a framing shop, find a local glass place, they should be much cheaper and they should cut it for you. If you can cut it yourself, get them to sell you a case and you can get the cost down even more, but 40in. sheets of glass are a little unwieldy if you've never cut glass before, so be careful.
