Jim, The paper lever is all the way up at the normal "paper" position for feeding 190 gsm eclipse via the auto feeder. Feeding the 300 gsm through the manual slot in the rear requires first setting the lever all the way down, feeding the paper through the slot manually with the cover open until the leading edge is about 1/2 inch past the rollers, set the lever back to the "envelope" position, and push the paper feed button once. I normally use the smooth side, but if you want more texture in your print the rough side prints just as well.
