Anyone had problems using Eclipse w/2200?

Anyone had problems using Eclipse w/2200?

2002-12-19 by jim hayes <jimhayes@frii.com>

I'm trying to gather some info here, not report a problem. Curiosity,
mainly:

1) Paper feeding issues? What size/weight paper?

2) Banding issues?

3) Clogging isuues (i.e do you suspect you are getting more clogs
running this paper then say, an "approved" Epson paper)?

4) Problems with appearance at 100%k

I'm using IP5 greyscale, but since I just sent them the calibration
targets and got back profiles yesterday, I suspect noone else is
running Eclipse through an 2200 with IP5.

Please tell me your environment if known, i.e. temperature, humidity,
clean or dusty, etc. You can reply offlist or on, as you desire.
TIA,
Jim H.

No feed problems on my 2200 with Eclipse Satine BW. I feed the 190 gsm
through the auto sheet feeder and use the rear straight feed slot for
the 300 gsm.

None.

I've had no clogs yet with the 2200 after 4 months of use.

Looks fine to me - no mottling or burnishing evident on my prints.

Nope - would like to be using IP 5 but waiting for user reports on the
OS X version.

Variable humidity, clean environment.

Where do you set the paper lever for both the 190gsm and 300gsm?

P.S. Sorry for additional post: Do you print on smooth or rough side
of paper?

Thank you, Carl your input is helping me a great deal.

Jim,

The paper lever is all the way up at the normal "paper" position for
feeding 190 gsm eclipse via the auto feeder. Feeding the 300 gsm
through the manual slot in the rear requires first setting the lever
all the way down, feeding the paper through the slot manually with the
cover open until the leading edge is about 1/2 inch past the rollers,
set the lever back to the "envelope" position, and push the paper feed
button once. I normally use the smooth side, but if you want more
texture in your print the rough side prints just as well.
