I am in a similar situation...I think. I just ordered my new Epson 1280
($313 after the $100 Epson rebate). Since it is new, it will never see color
carts. I am dedicating it to B/W from the very start. Now the question
is....what do I do next? MIS inks, Piezotones? Plugins? Workflows?

I have just started to get, what I consider, quite nice B/W output from my
C80 using the "Russell Brown Tonal Conversion Technique" using EEM and
Epson Velvet Fine Art, but I want a bigger output.

I don't know how this stacks up against others, but it works for me and makes
sense to me, unlike some others. Maybe that is why it works for me.
