I have had good luck using marine winch grease applied with a Qtip 
swab; the brand I'm using now is Lewmar Geargrease.  Lubricants for 
the marine environment seem to apply, hold up and function well for 
this purpose - plus they're more expensive than the usual varieties 
which makes them a natural match for quadtone printing.
