Richard, My eclipse prints are about as good as the photo rag. But I use the enhanced black ink from media street instead of the MIS ink, which is a deeper black. I use Paul's curves. I like photo rag, but it has 2 problems I can't live with; its too warm for me, and its way too expensive. When identical inks are used, photo rag does have deeper blacks, as does Royal riviera (Torchon), and Well's River, which would be my favorite paper if it didn't flake so bad. Sure is funny hahnemuhle hasn't fixed this problem after all these years!!! Jerry The smooth side of eclipse is as smooth as the photo rag.
