Re: [Digital BW] Epson Stylus Color 900 + MIS Quadtone inks

2003-01-10 by Sam A. McCandless

Good printer, Scott; I still miss mine. I never tried a quad tone
inkset in it. It coped well with a variety of papers. The
heaviest/thickest I remember using in it was Crane's 300 gsm uncoated
cover stock, which wasn't very useful due to the dot gain. If someone
gave me one (and I could find some place to put it!), I think I'd try
Lyson's Small Gamut Photonic inkset in it if Lyson supports that. But
I assume that would be a more expensive experiment. I think it would
make a good printer for one of the MIS VM inksets, but I don't think
anyone has developed the necessary (I guess) curves for it.
Incidentally, the 900 is, I believe, one of the few printers for
which Adobe's discontinued PressReady rip works.
