Thanks for the reply.

MIS is only suppling the 'original' Quadtones in Epson 900 
cartridges.  I'd like to try the VM inks but I'd need to go the 
route of refilling virgin carts (I want to prove to myself that the 
printer is capable of generating reasonable output before I go this 
way).

It appears that the Lyson Small Gamut inks are also not available in 
pre-filled Epson 900 carts.

Looks like if things prove out with the printer, I'm likely to get 
my first chnace to dip my toes in the 'refill ink' pool.
