Keith, You make excellent points. Also imaging the situation where the chipping was 100% effective. No third party inks. That would leave us with no choices when the company stuffs up their supply chain and run out of stock and no creative choices either. We would be limited to scrounging around for older models and trying to keep them going. In the magazines I write I constantly hear complaints from beginners about the high cost of consumables compared to the cost of the printers.
