Just got back from Photo LA...had some things to do and thought it would be a good time to visit the city. Pleased to report I did see several, not a lot, of "Carbon," "Piezo," "Digital," & "inkjet" prints. In B&W as well as color (great bird print on one wall in color). Many had respectable prices. Particularly nice were the Lois Conner's on China panoramics, 7x17 negs scanned and printed (to approx 35-inches from memory), edition of 13 at $2000 each. Her regular/traditional medium is platinum. During a gethering I was asked if I thought digital would impact the pricing of photography. On the spot it occured to me...for the last 15-20 years, galleries have been working photographers towards editions anyhow (pulling on the tradition of printmaking). As long as one subscribes to the editioning theory...then there should be no effect on the price due to method. The method/medium employed to represent the image should be the choice of the artist to suit their skills, vision & image(s). Overall a nice experience (for a professional swapmeet ;-). Sincerely, Cleavis
