Jerry,

I was referring to the color crossover with the color inks.

I loaded the MIS archival inks into my 1280. Using the color setting recommended (Printed on a 21 step wedge) I am getting deep purples in the shadows, the rest of the steps are lovely shades of cool gray.

Mike

Mike, I don't get any purples or color shifts at all with the VM ink.

You are using the VM Black? Not the regular black, or the double
  density black?

The epson settings are 1440 DPI, error diffusion On, high speed off,
Photo Quality Inkjet paper setting for Media,
Automatic is checked, and in the print dialogue box, Same as source is
  the profile selected.

I have just experimented with the MIS color pigments in my 1160, using
duotones. Photoshop offers about 20 duotones int the "Pantone" duotone
folder. They have 4 purple choices, Purple bl1, bl2, bl3, and bl4. The
bl 4 results in an almost identical selenium tone look on regular photo
paper. I can't believe you can actually get a black and white print with
no color crossovers with MIS Archival Color inks. I've only made about
half a dozen prints so far, but it looks like it will work for most
images. The look is as nice as the paul roark curves with VM inks, so
far. But there's too many variables to make a conclusion, just yet. But
this is certainly worth many more tests. I have to run some even gray
tests to check out the dot patterns, which I haven't done yet. No
noticeable dots on the prints I've made so far, but these have no areas
  of smooth gray.
