How about color negative vs. B&W negative? Given the various advantages of being able to manage the conversion from color to B&W after shooting the image, as opposed to using filters before hand to do that with a B&W negative, is the tonality range of color negatives sufficiently close to the B&W negative (i.e., enough greater than color positives) to make this option respectable for someone wanting to end up with a quality B&W image?
