> It is terribly slow. It is connected to the LTP port so now that I see that it will work from the USB port I will reinstall it there. The techie at Epson told me it wouldn't work when connected to a USB port! > Which settings did you use in the Print Settings and Color Management Boxes? Print speed is the same for me using the RIP or standard Epson, Idunno, maybe using USB is the thing. Here's how I print greyscale on EAM from the RIP in Windows98: Open the RIP and from the main RIP screen select "edit" and then "color manager", in that box I select the following- All CMYK boxes: <blank, with the exception of the title box which has "custom" in it but is meaningless since the other CMYK boxes are blank and everything I print is RGB> RGB: custom Icc profile: <click the "+" and open the profile you use for EAM at 1440dpi> On the right side of the box: Media: Enhanced Matte Paper 1440x720 Icc profile: CPS SP2200 MCMP MK [I have no idea what that profiles but its a RIP profile that the RIP defaults to -- I don't know if you even need it, but I can't blank the box so I went with the default- gotta find out more about that] calibration: <blank> Paper configuration: Color density: 108 % [I had to bump up the ink density by 8% to match the print to my screen] Now from PS I open a greyscale image and select 'print with preview'. From that screen I select Adobe RGB1998 (my workspace) in the print space. Select 'print' and select Epson StylusRIP 2200. Click on properties and select the paper and dpi you want. Under "device options" I select: paper: Enhanced Matte Paper ink: color high speed: off CMYK simulation: off RGB simulation: off greyscale control: all autocut: off borderless: off And that's it for that dialog box. Click OK and then OK again and printing will start. I may be doing more stuff than I need to but the darned documentation is so weak how do you know. Hope this helps. I mean, what could go wrong? :)
