Doug, >>>I balanced [UC VM 4.3} on my 1160 using the standard curves.<< >With which papers will the combination of your curves and new ink work? All the usual papers plus RC papers -- if you use a black ink that is compatible, like MIS 7600 Photo Black, UltraChrome Photo Black, or Epson Archival Black. > ...I really want to try printing on something else besides EAM/EEM. >The ability to print on semigloss surfaces via the >new inkset really appeals to me but won't individual >profiles need to be made for papers other than the current >EEM/Eclipse Satin? I tested the inks and curves on Epson Premium Luster, Ilford Smooth Pearl, and (cheap/readily available at Costco) Epson Photo Paper. For the most part they print OK with the existing curves. The warm curve is the only one that seems to be off enough to be a problem. I'm sure detailed profiles would help with any paper (and printer), but the existing curves make fine prints and a good starting point for those who want to tweak the system to optimize it for any particular RC paper.
