The CFS and CIS tubes are made of different material- that may contribute. Humidity here gets to 20% and I have endless problems. I even humidify to 45%RH but no dice. So I switched to the 2200/IP5 and an amazing difference. Only 3 or four cleaning cycles TOTAL needed to get perfect nozzles in 2 1/2 months of operation compared to cleaning cycles needed two- 8 times a week for 1280/VM roughly. I have an idea why I got banding occuring in midprint six times with 2200. The Epson driver everyso often makes a lot of cleaning cycle noise without being told to. I think it runs a cleaning cycle whenever it feels like it-built into Epson driver. If IP5 is used, the Epson driver isn't, except it sometimes makes noise when first turned on. Just a wild guess right now. But if IP5 doesn't call for a cleaning cycle now and then, maybe banding will suddenly occur. This is VERY infrequent, I am very happy with my 2200 wrt clogging. Running a purge pattern in draft mode with plain paper w/Epson driver before using IP5 seems to be helping with the banding stuff...I note that it sometimes does a cleaning cycle noise during this.
