What I heard from MIS is that some of the standard Epson desktop printers --
1280, for example -- pump out too much ink for the standard "high load" MIS
7600 Archival (UC clone) inks to absorb correctly on glossy paper.  The
pigments pile up and one gets different levels of gloss.  So, the GP inkset
has a slightly reduced level of pigment in it to avoid this problem.

Apparently the 7600 actually pumps you less ink than the 1280.  This avoids
the problem of too much pigmentation on the paper.

My experience seems to indicate that the 7000 puts out less ink than the
1280 and might be fine with the full load of the MIS 7600 UC clone inkset.

I am not a beta tester for MIS color inks, so I have no experience with this
problem.  The MIS 7600 inks that I've used in the 1160 and 7500 seem fine,
but those have not been the full color inks.  To me, lower load means lower
gamut and dmax.

  It looks like the advantages of the high pigment loaded inks are
  not there for 5000/7000/9000 printers either. At least MIS is
  quite vague about the use of the GP Archival and MIS 7600 in
  these printers. Sounds we have to upgrade the 9000 to 9500 status
  after all. Is that correct ?
