Re: [Digital BW] Epson 1200/piezography

2003-02-25 by Martin Wesley

Jeff,

I started out with the original Piezo inks, software and a 1200. I
encountered just about all the problems imaginable. Eventually I switched to
a 1280 and MIS inks then on to PiezoTone inks. The real weak link in the
system seems to have been the printer. For whatever reason the 1200 does not
seem to do well with the carbon pigment inks.

I would recommend going to a 1280 if you can and the PiezoTone inks staying
with the Piezo-plugin. MIS-FS, MIS-FSN, or Sundance NC would be other ink
choices.

I have also had the Y inks get used up faster than the other inks and others
have made similar reports. This seems to be normal and can be influenced by
the tonal range of your prints.
