Truman, I had my 2200 on ME before XP. There have been many posts on other forums about the fact that Epsons often have trouble connected to hubs. I honestly never tried it--but just installed to a separate USB port and put the 1280 on the parallel. I have not had any problems installing them on XP though--both are on separate USB ports.

Given my experience with the network adaptor and XP I suspect it is XP
rather than the Epson. On my old box (ME ) I had a scanner, my 1280 and
my network adaptor and a cheap Cannon printer all sitting on a hub going
into a USB port. It worked fine.
The problem I had with the network adaptor had to do with XP seeming to
want to assign a specific USB port to a specific piece of hardware.
