I guess it's the luck of the draw at Epson. I told them my printer
would no longer work after trying to use a 3rd party flush cart that
was missing the chip even though the box said it was chipped. (it
bends the pins that read the chip, so the printer will never work
again with any cart)They immediately replaced it under warranty. This
was a case where the printer clearly was damaged by a 3rd party
product and they were not bothered by that.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
