I got my 1280 in Nov and ran some of the epson ink through it to make sure it worked. Then I got some clean carts and ran them through it and then put in MIS VM carts and have used those ever since and have had (knock on wood) no clogging problems that a head cleaning cycle didn't clear up. If I am not going to print for awhile I turn on the printer and run a nozzle check ever couple days or so. The one reason I have not gotten a CIS is it seems that's just another piece of hardware to get into the loop in what seems to be a fairly delicate system when it comes to clogging.
