Digital BW, The Print

Ok - so starting with Roy's program was painful. I had a really hard time at first (though Roy was insanely wonderfully helpful and got me up to speed after a flurry of email :) ) but wow, I mean WOW - it is working now, really really well. And he has a system for making curves that actually sorta makes sense to me. The upshot of this is that I made curves for my printer this afternoon all by myself (well, um, with the help of some email and spreadsheets from Roy) which are WORKING! Still need a little tweaking, and my curves are not as good as, say, Tyler Boley's or Paul Roark's, but considering that just yesterday I was describing myself as an "end-user doofus" I am delighted with the results I am getting now.

In an email to Roy a few minutes ago I said "Ok so I am jumping around my studio feeling like a curve-development god rather than an end-user doofus. Thank you!"

Anyway - once I get my curves working a little better I'll be thrilled to share them with anyone else who wants them (MIS-VM inks on a 1280) - I'd encourage everyone to try this system, it works, and it's free!! :)
