I wasn't very clear I guess; I meant to say Eboni was a tad bit
darker. But in truth, the difference is so slight that I can
convince myself of the difference only under some lighting
conditions, which probably means its wishful thinking, or maybe
metamerism related...at any rate, it isn't a significant difference.

It really is not very difficult at all. I took the head cover off
and left it off; apparently the 7600/9600s don't even come with one.
Once that is out of the way, a single screw and a snap-fit hold a
plastic damper cover/ink-line support in place. The dampers
themselves need a tool with an elbow-bend to lever them out with out
squeezing or stressing them, a small flat-bladed screw-driver with a
bend in it will do. And if you have the new carts in place so no air
gets in the lines, you may get a drip or two, I got none at all. The
epson field manual directs that you remove the carts and drain the
lines before removing a line, and them doing an initial fill cycle.
That's about $150 in ink if you've got Archival or UC in there!
If you don't have the field & srevice manusl yet, they're available
at the wideformat forum file section, or www.nighthawksolutions.com
