Jim, I can't see any dots in the highlights of my prints when things are all working as they should. Especially with Paul's curves (Cool, and Neutral). At 1440 DPI on the 1280. Maybe my eyes aren't that great, but I have 15/20 vision at only one spot in my entire vision. Without glasses at 3 inches. At 3.5 inches it is out of focus. But where I CAN focus, it is VERY sharp. I certainly noticed the dots in the 1160, but haven't seen them yet in a 1280. Maybe Paul's curves took care of it, or maybe my prints just don't show them. I'd even be happy if all these problems could actually be traced to a single source, like bad inks, or bad cartridges. WHY are they bad? What happened that made them clog? Inks too thick? Too much difference between batches? If it's the cartridges, WHAT is making third party carts clog so bad? Epson Original inks practically never have clogging problems! I would love to try the 2200 printer, but frankly with my luck, I know I'd have clogs when using third party inks an cartridges. It wasn't always that way. In the past 6 years, I've had several spaces of 4-6 months with no problems whatsoever. So that is why it's so frustrating now. Imageprint is just to expensive for me, and I doubt if I could understand how to use it anyway. Jerry
