Re: [Digital BW] Brightcube semi-matte similars

2003-03-31 by Julian Thomas

Bill, my workflow depends on how energetic my printers are feeling. If they
are in a good mood I use Piezo with Epson Gloss profile and a curves action
to modify it for the Ilford. If not I use the randall rgb workflow with a
modified curves action. ( I prefer the pearl to the gloss) I spray using a
spray made by Ghiant and sold by Mwords - I've tried loads and this goes on
the best. A thorough coat just after printing and another one later if the
coat isn't even. I've sold several such prints framed and matted. I also use
it with Lincoln dyes for colour. The quickdry papers are slightly heavier
and great for work prints.

Julian,
You've mentioned several times your success with Illord Classic
Pearl or Gloss, but if you've ever spelled out your workflow, I
missed it. Could you tell the lame and halting one more time (1)
what paper profile you use, (2)how you do your coating, (3)any
observations on pearl vs. gloss, and (4)whether such prints can only
be displayed under glass?

Thanks,
Bill Iverson
