An Epson 890 is how I decided to get into digital B&W.  If you can 
still find one (they're becoming pretty scarce) your cost after an 
Epson rebate is $99.00.  Add a set of MIS cartridges, refill kit and 
inks and your total cost is just over $200.00.  Seems pretty hard to 
beat!!
