Digital BW, The Print

I have a 1280 but would still need another printer to do color and b/w. He has 
some 1270's which I could get a deal on or I could possibly spring for a 2200 
and fast for a while.

you will be best served for color with the 2200, and for bw with the 1280 
(though slower than the 1160). If you want a single printer to do both, the best 
compromise would be the 2200 with the Ultrachrome inks - either OEM or 
clones.  Not as ideal for bw, but good enough.
