Digital BW, The Print

you must answer this question thousand times, but I wasn't able to find anything with limited search options on yahoo groups.

I see people here talking about Epson 1280, 1160, 3000.
I looked what Epson is offering today and I haven't find neither 1280 nor 1160.

I saw 1290 is that printer replacing 1280?
Is the 890 A4 version of 1290?

I like to print b&w and sometimes also color photos. A4 size is enough for me currently. Is a 890 than option? I like to use MIS VM hex-set with Paul Roark workflow. I am curious about curves for this printer.
