Hello all, I have been reading the group for awhile and recently joined. I have a question I am puzzled over. I am using the Epson 2200 printer, Matte black ink, PS7, WinXP home, 2.4 ghz, 1 gb ram. I have no problem using the Epson dirver for color and have learned (from this group) a "workflow" that prints very nice Black and White orints with only a hint of metamersim. To improve matters I bought the Epson Stylus 2200 RIP and after a few false starts got it to produce very nice black and white images. The only problem is that no matter what my settings, the trailing edge (last out of the printer) has about a near 1/4 inch fade to it, like the printer just slowly stopped using some of the ink. you can see the problem at: http://home.kc.rr.com/rardinger/fading.jpg These are scans of parts of two pictures, one with the RIP the other without. (the one without does not look that magenta in person but does shift to a slight magenta underdifferent light. I have gone through the settings on the RIP and think it is close to correct for a good B&W image but I cannot shake the fading off at the end of the print. If I flip the image it happens to the other side (the trailing edge that was once the leading edge). Thanks in advance for the help. Robert
