Bernd,

I am really sorry to hear there is such a difference between the 1280 
and the 1290 drivers. I wonder what Epson's reasoning is for this.

Did you try the latest set of curves adjusted for a media setting 
of "Photo Paper" with a 1440 or 2880 dpi?
