I am having good results with the MIS VM-S inkset (neutral to somewhat warm,
my taste) and their CIS, though you can get individual cartridges. Arches
Infinity paper (best, esp if not under glass) or Epson EEM, using the Paul
Roark curves for this inkset. I gave up on color inks to do b&w some time
back, a waste of time IMHO. The Paul Roark NCA vm-nw curve, my favorite,
produces a warm-tone print with the six-ink set. The NCA vm-w curve
produces a neutral b&w print. You can even go to a sepia if you like that.
Excellent service - whenever something goes wrong I get a replacement part
by UPS in a couple of days (if you call --they're not into the email thing
100%). I understand the MIS Ultra-tone set has a longer display life and
goes to a cool tone, but I have not yet tried that. This is with PS7. It's
all on the MIS site, missupply.com. Right now I don't have a need for
prints larger than 13x19m, so it's a good economical solution...if you can
live with matte paper. Supposedly Oriental is introducing a paper that
replicates its famed air-dried fibre glossy paper (of which I've used many
M's of sheets in the darkroom), but I'll believe that when I see it. Good
luck to you.
