You're right, the QRP guys do tend to be tinkerers, competing to build the smallest transmitter, such as will fit in a 35mm film can, etc. The really dedicated ones do it with .1 watt. >That's YoGi- Not Yagi! Sorry, but it IS Yagi. He was one of two Japanese engineers who figured out the formulas for multi-element parasitic array antennas. The other man's name was Uda. The antenna books sometimes refer to these as Yagi-Uda antennas, but most hams just say "Yagi".
