I can pop the cart lids of an 1160 or an 1280 either in or out in
about 20 seconds flat with a small flat bladed screwdriver. It is easy
to learn the trick. If you don't put them in, and if you haven't put
some means of friction to hold the cart in place, you have to worry
about the cart riding up and air getting in to the nipple- and then
you WILL have problems. I would rather fumble for 3 or 4 minutes with
the lids then leave myself open to this possibility. Of course, your
situation is different and this is only my opinion, YMMV, etc.
