Chris,

The covers are real easy to put back in and take out again. Of course if you
are like me finding them is the big problem. If the cleaning carts will stay
in place you shouldn't have a problem. Using the flush carts between
oringinal Piezo and the Piezotone probably isn't necessary but can't hurt
either.

I'm still using the Selenium PT with the MIS-FS black (equivalent to
Portfolio Black I believe) and very happy with the output. Wonderful tone.
Interesting things on the horizon but they are still largely vapor ware at
the moment. I think what you have chosen one of the top systems. Luck!

I can pop the cart lids of an 1160 or an 1280 either in or out in
about 20 seconds flat with a small flat bladed screwdriver. It is easy
to learn the trick. If you don't put them in, and if you haven't put
some means of friction to hold the cart in place, you have to worry
about the cart riding up and air getting in to the nipple- and then
you WILL have problems. I would rather fumble for 3 or 4 minutes with
the lids then leave myself open to this possibility. Of course, your
situation is different and this is only my opinion, YMMV, etc.

-Thanks, Jim: I ended up taping down the carts and seem to have done
OK. I'm now into the realignment and nozzle checks on the CIS that I
installed last night. That's not going perfectly but I assume it's
not due to any air introduced during flushing. I'm still getting some
scatter and some microbanding despite a series of realignments, but
may have had both prior to changing to this new CIS. I thought the
previous system was operating well, but now checking more closely, see
that there were those problems before, and I hadn't been looking
closely enough to notice. I'm also still getting intermittent dropped
bands on the nozzle checks, though many are also perfect. The blank
spots come and go. I'm assuming that if I wait a day or so things may
settle out in that area.
Any ideas from anyone?
Thanks in advance.
