So I'm not sure if taping will be okay. I do know that Bill Bergh way back when was a fan of scotch taping everything; he told me a story about how he had a drawer full of ink carts that they popped in and out of a 1160 to test and that they just scotch taped them and had no problem. I never got it to work for me it never stuck. I wasn't aware that flush carts now ship with a set of nipples...maybe you refer to an outfit you bought from Jon Cone? He likes to ship you complete-all-you need philosphy- so maybe he now ships out EZ-plugs too. With the new ink it may not crack the plugs; but if it does it should still have a lifetime warranty. I had two sets as I said- I kept one in the mail out for replacement and used the other<g>. I went through about five sets of plugs this way. Strange they never fixed the issue. Don't use rubber bands on the EZ-plugs like some suggest- it can distort the seals and also worsen the cracking. The carts don't need it. Jim H.
