Harry: Short answer is that if you want to use the Epson driver to print quadtones with your 1160 you will need to be able to apply a single curve (lumped/non-partitioned workflow) or a curve set (RGB partitioned workflow). The partitioned workflow converts the grayscale image into various shades of CMY thus "tricking" the Epson driver into thinking it is printing CMYB. There are many lower cost image editors that will allow you to apply a "canned" curve or curveset other than PS. I personally use Picture Windows Pro ($90) from www.dl-c.com .
