Couple of issues which I hope someone can tell what to do: 1)The CanoscanFS4000 FARE (dustRemoval feature) cannot work on B&W negatives (the grains overloads it and it gives up). Is this true for all B&W negatives? Tmax- 100, HP5+, HP4+, Tri-X are what I tried. 2)I cannot get rid of the grains even in PS: filter/ dustRemoval would only take away my resolution and USM brings back the grains. What's the best way to scan a B&W negative? What's the best B&W negative to use for scanning?
