does anyone know the reason why it won't work on films other than 
C-41 process films?

i have scanned a few B+W negatives on my Epson 3200, and all but
one seemed to work fine with the Dust/Scratch Filter in SilverFast

i plan on doing more testing before i reach a verdict though :)
