It is precisely that reason that one might want to consider this route; everyone has a different combination of ink/printer/imagery and different preferences and goals with their work. Sometimes it is possible to end up with a better product by hand because you are willing to do things that commercial companies can't do in a production type environment, either because of cost or effort or otherwise.
