These dust removal methods use an infrared scan along with the visible light channels. A dust particle is opaque to infrared and will be spotted out, whereas film features are transparent to infrared and are left. So it ought to work on the chromogenic films, i.e. Tmax and HP5, as these work like colour film and the silver is replaced by dyes during processing. The silver halide films won't work because the silver is still there and is opaque to infrared. So all the grain is removed, and hence so is all the image... In article <bb2r1k+ucuj@...>, ayeo@...
