I had a 1280 with a MIS CFS system and it was a pain, mostly. The ink dried out or something, I had to do endless cleaning cycles and the dreaded red light came on all the time. A big part of the problem was the way the cartridges are just held in by friction with felt pads ( unreliable) or zip ties ( awkward) . The chip resetter from MIS was a joke. I liked the results I was getting with MIS inks though ( Epson Enhanced Matte). But finally I had enough and got rid if it and switched to the 2200 . Now I am using original Epson cartridges - which gets expensive soon. But at least I can count on it. I can hit 'print' and walk away and expect to see a print when I come back. Now I am reading about the new Lyson Cave Paint CFS system they advertise at Calumet, but am reluctant because of the bad prior experience with the other system. I am hoping this one might work better on this machine because the carts ' clip' in very nicely - and stay in place - on the 2200. That might solve half the problems with CFS's. Any thoughts by someone about this ? Has anybody used the cave Paint inks yet or seen/used the Lyson CFS system for the 2200 ? I'd love to get some input before investing a lot of time and money into another CFS system. ... Thanks !
