Unlike many, I am willing to put my money where my mouth is:

As many on this list are aware I am running for NJ State Assembly (our
lower legislative house).

I would like to point out a fact that may be of interest to all here:

1)    In answering the 2003 Sierra Club Legislative Issues
questionnaire, I have offered a commitment to sponsor legislation (to
parallel that already passed in the EU) that would:

a)    Prohibit sales in-state of printers designed to prohibit recycling
of consumable components (i.e. chipped cartridges etc.)

b)    Prohibit state governmental entities from purchasing printers
incorporating design features meant to prohibit such reuse/recycling.

c)    The legislation would be drafted to take initial effect one year
after similar EU rules.
