> It is no concern of the government > whether Epson makes chipped cartridges. Hum. Well, technically, if they ONLY made chipped cartridges, that would be true...but when they make them AND the REAL purpose of making them is to prohibit others from providing ink cartridges for their printers...it's restraint of trade. They could have made them, and simply not tried all this patent/copyright scam BS that they are doing. The automotive industry MUST allow aftermarket suppliers to be able to provide replacement parts for vehicles...even fenders etc. which are clearly a design item, as in, would easily fall in copyright jurisdiction. What they CAN prohibit is other printer manufacturers using their patents/copyrights...and this is clearly not the case with what chipped cartridges are doing. YOU own the printer, and YOU should be able to use ANY damned ink in YOUR printer you want. What they are doing, in my opinion, should be illegal. Austin
