Well if Jerry Olson was still with us he would suggest switching to the  
Gen4 Black from media street.  It is a dye/pigment hybrid and jerry  
used it with the VM ink set in place of standard MIS black.   
Inkjetmall's Piezotone Black Black might also be worth considering.   
Both of these will give you better blacks at the expense of longevity  
(because of the dye).  Another option would be switching to the  
Ultratones with Photo black and printing on gloss or luster finish  
papers.  The blacks are much more intense using these options.
