It looks like this thread contains the answer to my former question: 
1280 or 220 for BW.
I am buying 1280 (second - first I use for color),  load the quad inks, 
chose proper software and... go.
And now lame question.  The printer comes with color cartridges (not 
loaded).  Should I try it with the color inks to check if it works fine, 
use the cleaning cartridge and put in the quad inks - or it's better not 
to dirty the printer with the color inks, but go directly to quads?
