I would not mix any inks the CIS cartridges. The mix will take a very long time to stabilize. In the meantime you'll have, for example, a black that will probably look streaked as the two types mix. Profiling and getting good prints could take so much time and ink that it would be much cheaper to just replace the cart. Actually, for the black position, I think it makes a lot on sense to just use carts instead of the CIS if you are going to be switching. I thought that some had tried using a CIS with just the 5 color positions, but it might be worth a posting to ask if anyone has tried this successfully. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
