Digital BW, The Print

I seem to recall reading that, except for speed, the 2400 and 3200 are 
essentially the same in terms of scanning performance. Is this correct?

I can buy a new 2400 for $178. This would be a low-cost, first scanner for 
me which I would like to match up with Vuescan for scanning 4x5 negatives. 
Speed is not an issue.

Any thoughts?
