Digital BW, The Print

I found out something tonight that I just can\ufffdt explain...
While I was looking for ImagePrint info on ColorByte site,I saw their
profiles for downloading and copied the one for the FS inkset,EAM,Epson
1290. Just out of curiosity,I printed an image on my Epson 980 (which is a
small version of the 1160,4 inks) with MIS FS on EAM using this profile(I
usually do it with Jonh Woolf\ufffds curve),to see what kind of wired "special
effect"  it would produce... Converted the image to RGB,soft proofed with
the profile,sent to printer and...

What came out was a perfect print,no dots,all gray values,absolutely
perfect...

Now what the heck is it???? Am I loosing something here???
